Rabbi Gidon Shoshan
Rabbi Gidon Shoshan is a *maggid shiur* and *mashgiach ruchani* at Yeshivat
Darche Noam/David Shapell College of Jewish Studies in Yerushalayim (*
www.darchenoam.org* ), and serves on the faculty
of the Ner Le'Elef Kiruv Training Program.
Rabbi Shoshan hails originally from Chicago, where he was profoundly
influenced by his rebbe, Rabbi Meyer Juzint, a Slabodka-trained talmid
chacham who taught in Chicago for over fifty years. After leaving Chicago,
Rabbi Shoshan learned in several yeshivas including Yeshivat Hakotel and Mir
Yeshiva, and later received both semicha and a masters in Jewish education
from Yeshiva University. From 2002-2004, Rabbi Shoshan and his family lived
in Los Angeles, where they were among the founding leadership of the LINK
Kollel in Westwood. There, he lectured in many area shuls, at universities,
and even at Dodger Stadium.
Since returning to Israel in 2004, he has been giving daily Gemara
*shiurim*at Darche Noam/Shapell's as well as afternoon hashkafa
*vaadim* and mussar *shmuessen*. In his capacity as *mashgiach, *he
conducts regular meetings with students, helping assist them with the myriad
challenges of growing personally and spiritually. Rabbi Shoshan is also a
periodic visitor to communities and campuses in the US and United Kingdom,
and works together with American *mechanchim* and *mekarvim* to maximize the
experiences that students have learning at Darche Noam/Shapell's and its
sister seminary, Midreshet Rachel v'Chaya.
