Born and raised in Johannesburg, SA, Rabbi Treger studied business at the University of Witwatersrand, where he graduated top of his class. He then spent eight years learning in Yerushalayim, mainly in the Mir Yeshiva.
Aged 30, he returned to South Africa as a Rabbi at Sandton Shul and to fulfill his passion to join the commercial world.
He is now the president of Sandton Shul, where he is still a voluntary rabbi. He is also the director of Sandton Sinai School, a yeshiva day-school which he founded in 2012.
Rabbi Treger actively leads a successful multinational business. His passion is discovering how to achieve greatness as a Jew through involvement in the workplace.
These series are an organized guide to how a Jew can grow close to Hashem through business. They are deeply rooted in Torah sources and are reinforced by Rabbi Tregers’s extensive practical experience. They intend to give grounded direction about how someone in business can strike the perfect balance between the physical and the spiritual; between work and learning and between life in the real-world and real life.
